Subnautica creatures concept art12/10/2023 ![]() Development started as early as before the first early access release. The Twisty Bridges was a biome originally planned to be found in Subnautica. For the related article on the Below Zero Wiki, see Twisty Bridges. Twisty Bridges This article is about Cut Content (Subnautica) in Subnautica. Either during the December 2014 Update or the January 2015 Update (Being fact checked) these were later replaced by completely empty ocean.Īn assortment of Lilypad Root Variants. This might have been a prototype of that. This possibly might have been related to something Charlie Cleveland said during during GDC, that when coming up with ideas on how to prevent the player from escaping the boundaries of the world, one of the ideas was creating a giant wall of terrain to create a basin around the map. Upon reaching the walls, a unique, trumpet/horn-like ambiance will begin to play. From the Earliest Access Phase of development, all the way up to either the December 2014 update or the January 2015 Update (Currently being fact checked), these anomalous walls were present around 2000 meters away from the center of the map, reaching up far too high to climb over, and upon teleporting past these walls there was nothing but empty ocean. However, it was replaced by the Crater Edge in later updates of the game. It was a mix of strange geometry to prevent the player from going further. The original version of the Crater Edge in the early access versions of Subnautica was very different from the final game. Where this would have been located is unknown, although it can be assumed that it would have functioned identically to the Orange and Green Terminals. 15.3 Chelonian Hull Reinforcement ModuleĪlien Tech Alien Data Terminal (Unused Variant) Īn unused version of the Alien Data Terminal with a more cyan hue.1.1 Alien Data Terminal (Unused Variant). There are quite a few different versions of the Rock Puncher, for instance, that look different from one another. Keep in mind a lot of what is in the concept art undergoes a lot of changes when it is put into the game. But already I can see some similarities to creatures like the Rock Puncher, the Reefback, the Spine Eel, and so on. I would think a lot of the humanoid creatures in there were probably for Natural Selection 2 which is another UWE game. I did see somewhere on Trello that they might re-introduce the Sand Worm but that isn't for certain. Atleast three new creatures are a possibility: the Rock Puncher, the "Spike Trap," and the fabled Sand Worm that was taken out very early in Subnautica's development. ![]() I do know there will be no more new submersibles - I believe Squeal said something about that in an earlier thread but I could be wrong. Whether or not any of the other concepts will make their way into the game depends on how much time UWE wants to put into Subnautica after 1.0 comes out. ![]() I've seen a lot of cool concept art and this question has probably been answered, but will there be more submarines and creatures added eventually like these: ![]()
